Also called bass guitar, or electric bass, it is a musical instrument built according to the same principles as the electric guitar but with a lower register than the latter. Paul Tutmarc invented the first electric bass in 1933. However, it wasn’t until the early 1950s that it was marketed. There are many types of electric basses. The number of strings in a bass can vary 4, 5, 6 and more. Among the different types of basses, we can mention: 4-string bass, 5-string bass, 6-string bass, fretless bass, acoustic bass, electric double bass…
Why choose to play bass?
We already know the benefits of playing the guitar. What about the bass? What are its advantages? Easier to learn in some respects than the guitar and often presented as the backbone of the band’s sound, the bass is the basis of the band’s rhythm section along with the drums. The bass player therefore plays an essential role in a song or in a band.

Duration: 30-minute lessons per week for a 6-month program
Session Fee:
24 lessons (6 months): $590 or 6 installments of $102
2nd option:
Duration: 45-minute lessons per week for a 6-month program
Session Fee:
24 lessons (6 months): $900 or 6 installments of $152
3rd option:
Duration: 1-hour lessons per week for a 6-month program
Session Fee:
24 lessons (6 months): $1132 or 6 installments of $190
Registration: 50$ (once a year)
Material fees(copies, books, music recordings): $65 + tax (once a year)
Music Discovery Program
Lamusique Academy also offers you the opportunity to help your 2-to-5-year old child take his or her first steps in music through an introductory music course or a Music Discovery Program. Please select one of the options below:
